For the Indigo Lab Coat logo, we took the concept of the test slide to help demonstrate the importance of taking a “closer look” at the essential work lab professionals do.

Medical lab professionals work behind the scenes and have little to no interaction with Canadians. How do we get them to be seen as an essential group of people who keeps our healthcare system ticking?
We created the Indigo Lab Coat, representing confidence, intelligence, ambition and devotion of Canadian medical laboratory professionals. Printed in microscopic indigo type, are the names of the lab tests performed 1.2 million times each day in Canada. To the human eye, it looks like an indigo coloured lab coat. But if you look closer, you will see all the critical tests run each day that impact our healthcare system.
We designed the Indigo Lab Coat as a symbol of pride for medical lab professionals all across Canada and their relentless dedication to their work.
